Laura Lustig, Ph.D., L.M.F.T., President and founder
of NLC. She is a licensed psychologist and a licensed
marriage and family therapist in practice for 20 years, specializing
in working with young children and their families, as well as
with families dealing with chronic mental handicaps. She
is approved by the American
Association for Marriage and Family Therapy to supervise other
marriage and family therapists.

Gerald
Arndt, Ed.D., L.M.F.T., is Director of the Institute at NLC,
the professional training arm of our programs. A licensed
marriage and family therapist, he is a past president of the CT
Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and for 29 years has
served as a professor and consultant to service agencies.
He specializes in working with couples and families. He is
approved by the American
Association for Marriage and Family Therapy to supervise other
marriage and family therapists and to train them as supervisors
as well. |

Selbe
Potter Ruggiero, L.C.S.W., is the Director of Program Development
at NLTC. Her clinical expertise includes life coaching and personal
change strategy, conflict resolution, and relationship dynamics.
Spirituality exploration and mind/body interaction . She works with
individuals as well as couples and provides consultation to groups
and organizations. She is an approved Columbia University School
of Social Work supervisor and teaches a course on Alternative Therapies
in the Helping Profession. |

William
F. Mayer, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist providing
a wide range of services to children, adolescents, and adults. Trained
in child-centered play therapy and filial parent/child therapy,
his work with children involves, interactive child therapy, parent
consultations, and teaching social skills. Dr. Mayer also has a
specialization in sports psychology. He works with athletes on performance
enhancement with a particular focus with golfers. In addition, Dr.
Mayer works with parents and coaches on making participation in
youth sports a positive experience. In affiliation with Sacred Heart
University, Dr. Mayer teaches as an adjunct professor in the psychology
department. |

Victoria
Katz, M.A., L.M.F.T. is the Director of Social Skills Programming
at The New Learning Therapy Center. Her practice consists of working
with individuals, children and families. She has extensive experience
in therapeutic and social coaching for children. Mrs. Katz works
with parents with children who have attention deficits and other
learning disabilities. She has developed a highly acclaimed program
in coaching children ages 7-15 in a wide variety of social issues
including social anxiety, managing interpersonal relationships,
conflict resolution and problem solving. Mrs. Katz is also an adjunct
professor in the Psychology Department at Sacred Heart University
where she teaches courses on children with learning disabilities.

Karen
E. Giunta, M.A., L.M.F.T., is a licensed marriage and family
therapist, master's degree exercise professional, life coach and
group facilitator. She has over 20 years experience in behavior
modification counseling, incorporating physical, mental and emotional
components into her work with individuals (adults, teens and adolescents),
couples, families, and groups. Karen specializes in work with anxiety
and mood disorders, parenting issues, couples therapy, trauma healing,
and eating disorders. Karen has received Level 1 and 2 training
in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and has
found great success with this therapeutic approach to treating clients
with difficult life experiences such as anxiety, panic attacks,
grief, fear-based behaviors, and stress management. She is a clinical
member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy,
and an associate member of EMDR International Association. |

Lynda
Martone, M.S., L.M.F.T., is a psychotherapist experienced in
assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals, couples, and adolescents.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of Connecticut
and California, her work helps achieve more adequate, satisfying,
and productive interpersonal relationships. Specialties are working
with depressive disorders, women's issues, men struggling with relationships
of any kind, and couples work. She is a clinical member of the American
Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the American Psycholotherapy
Association. |

Nancy
Wergeles, M.S. Health Advocacy, L.M.F.T. Marriage and Family Therapy.
Nancy Wergeles has long been involved in the health care field.
In addition to her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy
she has an M.S. in Health Advocacy. Nancy is a trained Gestalt therapist.
Gestalt therapy is a holistic mind/body approach to treatment. Nancy
is also a trained play therapist and her long-time interest in play
therapy has become so well developed that she has been asked to
teach the Techniques of Play Therapy at Sacred Heart University.
She works with children, families, adults, and couples. Nancy seeks
to assist her clients in a therapeutic process that is as rewarding
and interesting as achieving the therapeutic goals. Nancy is a member
of The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. |

Heidi
Siebert, MFT has had a varied career working with people to
help them find solutions to their struggles. As a Marriage and Family
Therapist and certified Gestalt therapist she works with individuals,
couples and families. Prior to working in a private setting, she
worked in community mental health agencies and a local child psychiatric
residential facility. Special areas of interest include helping
children cope with issues through utilizing play therapy; and supporting
clients experiencing loss, such as infertility related issues, bereavement
and divorce. Heidi's ongoing study interests include equine therapies
and incorporates her love of animals. Prior to her career in psychotherapy,
Heidi worked in the human resources field for several major corporations
in the tri-state area. |

Carol
Sampson, MSW is a clinical social worker with experience providing
psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and families, as well as
adults. She has also run groups for adolescents. Her work with families
focuses on finding ways to strengthen connections between parents
and children. Carol treats individuals with mood disorders such
as anxiety and depression, and helps clients navigate life changes
and challenges. Prior to becoming a therapist, Carol worked for
various not-for-profit and government entities. In addition to her
MSW, Carol has a master's degree in Public Administration. |

Franklin
Tuchols, LCSW is a social worker licensed in Connecticut and
New York. Frank is a clinical member of The American Association
of Marriage and Family Therapy. Frank has over thirty years of experience
in providing therapy to individuals, couples, children and families.
A former clergyman, Frank specializes in assisting those who have
experienced a significant loss in their life or who are living with
a life threatening or chronic illness. Frank also is experienced
in working with same sex individuals and couples and issues of sexual
identity. |

Elizabeth
Crossfield, MFT is a marriage and family therapist experienced
in working with individuals, couples and families. Prior to working
at the New Learning Center, Elizabeth worked as a therapist at Fairfield
Community Services, a family clinic. Areas of interest include working
with adolescents and young adults transitioning to independent living
and dealing with life change and the search for a career. Other
interests are working with individuals and their families struggling
with addiction and their families. |

James
J. Dipisa, Ph.D. has 25 years experience as a licensed
psychologist, specializing in developmental psychological assessments
of children and adolescents and consultations with parents and
school staff. Dr. Dipisa has done training with the All Kinds
of Minds group at the University of North Carolina. For the past
10 years he has been working with the Norwalk School system and
was formerly faculty with the Yale Medical School Department of
Pediatrics. For 25 years, Dr. Dipisa has been a member of both
the American Psychological Association and the National Association
of School Psychologists. Dr. Dipisa has presented many training
sessions for parents and other professionals on children’s
cognitive development and neurodevelopmental assessment.

Edward
C. Keane, Ph.D. is the Clinical Psychology resident at
the Center providing psychological assessments, case consultation/psychotherapy,
and forensic evaluations. He has 30+ years experience as a therapist,
program consultant, trainer, author, and professor of psychology
and human services. His clinical specialties include trauma/stress
treatment, domestic violence intervention, family therapy, mood
and anxiety treatment, as well as intervention for anti-social and
conduct disorders. Dr. Keane has chaired two State-wide Commissions
on adolescent health issues and has been honored for his many contributions
to behavioral health initiatives in Connecticut. He is a member
of the American Psychological Association and the American Association
for Marriage and Family Therapy. |
